  • However the CPU in the 635 is actually slower.
We're talking Krait vs Cortex A7.
Clock for clock the krait cores are superior.
However given the 635s release date, idk why they didn't go with A53 cores.

  • I like the design of the 520 better, but the hardware and capability of the 635.

Maybe I can buy a new 520, get someone's broken 635 off Ebay, and swap the quad core snapdragon into the 520…

  • I like my 635. Good battery and responsive and easy to use. I like the LTE. Can't wait for Windows 10!

  • I just got the 635 through Boost mobile. They had the best plans of the pre-paid phones at Target. Boost has unlimited talk, text, and 5 GB of 4G/LTE for only 45 a month. I had straight talk but needed something new. My Samsung Galaxy Ace Style was creating a mind of its own. Downloading its own apps it likes, opening random apps, and the battery drained about 10% per half hour…anyway…
The 635 battery lasts quite a while. I get almost 2 days and that's with heavy youtube use. I don't have facebook so can't blame it on that. The video is great at 720 and the no front facing camera sucks, but I am not all into selfies so it was not a deal breaker. Camera is okay but you have to hold very still for the pictures to come out clear. So far so good on the 635. O and Boost sells the 635 for 59.99.

  • When you paid for the 635 online you paid for the phone but did you have to pay for it online or did you get it activated at a local store??

  • Overall the 635 is better but it seems to me that the 521 (same as the 520) has a better call quality at least on the T-Mobile network. That plus the dedicated camera button is where the 520/521 have an edge over the newer 635. The 635 is faster as a result and more reassuring as an OS. Of course the LTE is a major upgrade as well. The camera remains the same with no flash or front camera which is a major turn off for some. Battery is an upgrade lasting the whole day depending on usage of course. In sum I remain happy with Windows Phone.

  • The 635 has a decent camera for it's class. Colors are pretty deep and accurate. The picture quallity of the 635 is better that the Moto G 1st Gen.

  • Hi Jordan,  Over here in the UK, I grabbed a Lumia 630 (same device) to compare against the Moto E.  Both budget offerings at similar price points at the time.  Got to say the 630 blew the Moto E out of the water for me, and I'm an Android fan for the most part.  On a clear day, the camera was pretty good too!

  • Picked up a BlackBerry 9780 for round about 20$. Guess that destroys this one in battery time, because it lasts more then 3 weeks without charging. Downside is the small screen and not touchscreen. But webbrowsing if you really need it and your main phone is running out of power works, though only 3g speed, sound is pretty damn good for such a small device and brightness still beats all the other phones I had so far. Camera does decent photos but nothing I would recommend using regulary.
As a 20$ phone this one definitely rocks in the phone department with its 3 weeks standby time. And of course typing sms on a physical keyboard is a nice experience.
