FALLOUT 4: SURVIVAL MODE Let's Play Part 1 – The HARDCORE Wasteland (PC Gameplay Walkthrough)

Part 2:

Hey guys, part 1 marks the start of my brand new Survival Mode playthrough of Fallout 4! In this series we will explore character creation, every mission in the story, main quests, a few side quests, and the ending of single player campaign, weapons, armor, power armor, crafting, combat gameplay, perks, bobbleheads, and magazine locations.

Fallout 4 is an action role-playing video game developed by Bethesda Game Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks. The fifth major installment in the Fallout series, the game was released worldwide on November 10, 2015 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

Fallout 4 is set in a post-apocalyptic Boston in the year 2287, 210 years after a devastating nuclear war, in which the player character emerges from an underground bunker known as Vault 111. Gameplay is similar to that of Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas. The player completes various quests and acquires experience points to level up their character. With first-person and third-person perspectives available, players can explore Fallout 4’s open world setting at will, allowing nonlinear gameplay. The player can bring companions to assist in battles and help with scavenging. Players have the ability to construct and deconstruct buildings and items, and use them to build settlements, which can attract and be inhabited by non-playable characters.

Fallout 4 received positive reviews from critics, with many praising the world depth, player freedom, overall amount of content, story, crafting, characters, and soundtrack. The game shipped 12 million units and generated 750 million dollars within the first 24 hours of its launch. The game received numerous awards and nominations from various gaming publications, including the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences and British Academy Games Awards, making it both a commercial and critical success. Enjoy!

literally just not taking every piece of junk and storing it in the workshop

needing a drink, but not drinking beer, not knowing what i gourd is, theres too many things, its so frustrating, but i guess that means its a more honest experience of a first time survival player

  • you can hop down after you get the power armor, wrap around the museum left from power armor, go NE a bit to a house with a broken roof, theres a bed there and a bunch of goodies. you can do it without gaining aggro of raiders and they are far enough away from the bed so you can sleep

  • How can anyone bear to play on survival difficulty? "You're hungry. You're thirsty. You're tired. You have insomnia. You're more susceptible to disease." Blah. Within two hours I have four negative status affects, and two diseases, and I haven't even gotten to Concord, let alone seen a doctor.

Edit: is there a mod that allows you to walk through Dogmeat? He's gotten me killed so many times by standing in my way.

  • Changing the default FOV makes me sick, glad you didn't change it. I play exclusively on PC and almost all games default to a normal FOV except for the Call of Duty games which I can't play because of it.

  • "I need cloth!"
avoids cigarettes and other cloth items
    "I need Bobby pins!"
avoids cabinets with guaranteed Bobby pins

  • Well, yeah 'JV, I know exactly where a set of bobby pins are…' Bathroom mirrors… Just, all of the bathroom mirrors. Sometimes you luck into a set in in the washing machine in your old house. Generally if you're doing a survival run: beds(tin cans and pre-war money), water pumps(flip lighters and you're forced to carry one concrete if nothing can be scrapped), and getting the full armor set on the north shore of the lake near Sanctuary are a good idea to start out. Grabbing all the empty bottles you find can be helpful too, as you can make Purified Water by filling them at water pumps. Getting the double hunted meat magazine from Sunshine Tidings Coop is also a good early game goal. Other people covered the meat thing, but stuff like Iguana on a Stick can be helpful for the weight. Radstag Steak is good too just because there are official hunting zones: spots where you can kill several of them to get a half dozen or more steaks. Good food for the road.
