My response to the criticism of this review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jy-eDZkhljg
Thing thing in 2020.
The grain quicksand is kind of accurate, but it only really happens while the auger is running, which creates tremendous noise. The auger displaces grain at the bottom creating a pocket of lower density grain that people can fall into, get trapped, sucked into the auger or drown, happens more often then you think.
Omg best moment 10:10
Yes! Thank you! This film is fucking stupid.
The only reason needed: I watch my kid like a fucking hawk, as soon as he let his son lag behind in a world, where IF YOU MAKE A FUCKING SOUND, CREATURES WILL KILL YOU INSTANTLY! And he lets his kid fall behind and he walks ahead! WALKS AHEAD!!! You'd have your kids within arm's reach at all times. They'd be so well prepped to be outside, they wouldn't enjoy it at all. The rules would be strict and there'd be absolutely no fucking about, I'd have been all over this situation. As soon as his kid was killed, I spent the rest of the film muttering to myself about how shit of a dad he was. THIS MOVIE FUCKING SUCKS!!!
I demand A Lego Place to exist.
If your gonna walk barefooted actually you want build up loads of hard skin. The only way to do that is to literally tough it out until you get enough build of skin.
Finally someone who actually gives an honest review that points out the movie’s flaws. If this movie didn’t have John Krasinski in it, everyone would just consider it some ok, unique, horror film.
I agree on a lot of parts but the grain sinking had me shaking my head. Does this guy not understand the concept behind swimming? If you jump into water feet first, you sink, if you lie on your back, you can float. Same goes with nails, if you stand on a bed of nails, you're going to injure yourself, if you lie on a bed of nails, you'll be fine.
The monster should've been a Xenomorph imagine the implications of that
I feel like this movie would've benefitted from being almost silent aside from every significant noise being muffled indicating a potiential threat to the deaf protagonist
He looks like Shia from transformers
im not going to tell you your opine is wrong, but they cant live by the water because they have all there needs (power, food, close to a city where they can get supplies, shelter and all that stuff) but also they would have to deal with there shelter flooding consistently. but the rest of your points were pretty good. so yeah good video and i respect your opine but personally my biggest problem with the film was that it was so BORING
I know I’m probably not the only person here to say it but the grain thing was actually very realistic. The corn is siphoned away from the bottom by an auger, and when it falls it stacks in a way that creates pockets, and then when weight is added to the top, the pockets collapsed and essentially act the same way as a sinkhole, and if theirs enough you’ll be buried and literally drown in grain. A few years ago I climbed into our corn bin to grab a tool that fell in when we were working on the roof, and I sunk in up to my neck in a goddamn instant.
After it collapses, it won’t again, so as much as it bothered you, it was actually fairly realistic.
You make some good points but it was directed by Jim so you can’t make fun of it.
I think it was a family movie marketed as a horror.
I haven’t seen the movie but how many monsters are there that there’s always one within seconds of you every time you make a tiny noise, yet no one ever runs into a monster by accident?
Highly overrated
Honestly I love watching Adam rip apart movies I love and and enjoy
The reason why thy woudlnt live next to the the river is due to the farm providing them everything thy need. Thy cant exactly build a house next to the river which would force them to move between the farm and river which would be more risky.
The shotgun worked because the monster opened his head, it was covered by armor
Lots of people drown in grain bins every year here in Iowa. It 100% happens like that too
